Giving or receiving?

Giving creates an amazing joy. It makes the world a better place. It is a bit selfish, too, because when you bring joy to someone else, the elation within you is even greater. I give generously, cheerfully, and purposefully.

However, I observe a lot of young people these days display a mindset of entitlement to receive anything and everything they want. Receiving is not about ‘I deserve this’ rather it should be a humbling and joyful experience between the giver and receiver.

Susan Marie Chapman on giving and receiving

“The universe operates through dynamic exchange . . . giving and receiving are different aspects of the flow of energy in the universe. And in our willingness to give that which we seek, we keep the abundance of the universe circulating in our lives.” – Deepak Chopra

Susan Marie Chapman on giving and receiving

“Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson
